Anyone who has hung out in a yoga ashram or health spa will tell you that the morning beverage of choice is hot lemon water with cayenne pepper and honey or maple syrup. After all my years of living, studying and working in ashrams and spas you would think I would have adopted this healthy lifestyle habit. But I have a confession. Although I’ve often had hot lemon water, I never was brave enough to put a pinch of cayenne pepper in my morning brew. Until now, that is.
